Depth and trust matter. John’s work with clients always starts with cultivating a relationship based on curiosity and deep listening. John wants to know you. The impactful work is often beneath the surface. Getting to what John calls “the real real” is essential for lasting change, growth and maturity. In not addressing real issues individuals, teams and organizations often create work-arounds that slow progress and limit performance. John’s gift is in helping people become comfortable with the uncomfortable and tap into their own wisdom and strength. It is within this environment that clients begin to discover and implement the path forward. 

Background &

Experience

John is an accomplished educator, coach, mentor, facilitator, retreat leader and planning guide. He has worked with individuals, organizations and communities nationally and internationally for more than 25 years. He brings humility, patience, wisdom, confidence and curiosity.

 

John’s roots in working with people began at an early age as a minister’s son. As a young man, he pursued dual careers in ministry and emergency medical services. The literal life-saving work of a paramedic eventually eclipsed ministry. He worked in a variety of roles in developing and leading emergency medical services around the world, including the Middle East and Central America. 

 

At mid-life, he returned to working with people, and began a consultancy in the areas of leadership development, leader coaching, team work, organizational culture, inspiring employees and organizational planning. His passion is for helping individuals, teams and organizations become authentic and realize their full potential. 

 

​John holds a bachelor’s degree in History and Theology from Crown College and master’s and doctoral degrees in depth psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. He is published in numerous journals, magazines and online publications.

 

John’s clients include individual leaders across the nation, governmental institutions (federal, state, county and municipal), professional and trade associations, educational institutions and schools, for-profit and not-for profit corporations, foundations, volunteer groups and associations, and international NGOs.
